Choices’ staff has more than 40 years of combined counseling

Deb Hammond, CCGC
 Director of Choices
In February of 2000, Deb became the first individual in the state of Nebraska to receive a State Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor Certificate. She has been the lead presenter at numerous workshops in Nebraska and at National conventions. Deb is a board member of the Nebraska Council on Compulsive Gambling. From 1994 through 2001, she was a member of the Governor’s Commission on Compulsive Gambling, which is responsible for disseminating state funding for the treatment of compulsive gamblers.

Wanda Swanson, CCGC | Coordinator, 24-hour Help Line

Wanda is a State Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor who received her certificate in February of 2002. Wanda has answered the state-wide problem gambling help line since 1999

Lori Crowther, MS, CCGC | Continuing Care Program Coordinator

Lori is a State Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor who received her certificate in February of 2004 and is trained as a Stephens Minister.

Janet Johnson, MA, LIMHP, CCGC, LADC | Director of Mental Health

Becky Eder, MA, PLMHP, CCGC

Becky received her Master of Arts in Counseling and became a provisionally licensed mental health practitioner in 2009. Becky also received her gambling certificate in 2010. Becky specializes in a variety of mental health issues, focusing primarily on anxiety disorders, relationship concerns, gambling addictions and substance abuse. Becky believes in tailoring her counseling approach to each individual and/or relationship so unique needs can be addressed and people can move towards change.

Jeremy Eberle, MA, PLMHP, Gambling & Substance Abuse Intern
Jeremy Eberle has been with Choices Treatment Center since October of 2008. He received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2004. He graduated from Doane with a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2010. Jeremy is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and is currently in the process of becoming a certified gambling counselor. Jeremy has experience in both individual and group counseling. He has worked with clients on a variety of mental health issues such as addiction, anxiety and depression.
